To mark its 115th Anniversary, The University of Hong Kong (HKU) will host a special celebratory concert, “Dare to Dream”, presented by the Hong Kong Gaudeamus Dunhuang Ensemble (HKGDE) on June 11, 2026 (Thursday) at the Grand Hall, Lee Shau Kee Lecture Centre.
Founded in 2018 by HKU alumna and Honorary University Fellow Ms Leonie Ki, HKGDE’s concert is dedicated to showcasing the beauty of Dunhuang music and Chinese culture.
Featuring special guest performers, including Mr Sunny Yeung, Director of Estates at HKU, this concert has been curated especially for HKU’s 115th Anniversary. It will lead the audience on a cross-temporal journey through the musical culture of Dunhuang and the splendour of the Silk Road, while celebrating HKU’s 115 years of excellence as a bridge of cultural exchange between East and West.
